1952 - St. Paul, MN
Before the PGA Tours 'Whites Only Clause' was removed in 1961, there did exist opportunities for players of color to compete on the world's biggest golf stage despite not being fully welcome.
One such opportunity came in 1952 at the St. Paul Open where black legend Ted Rhodes and local legend Solomon Hughes Sr competed in this Minnesota Tour stop, becoming a couple of the first black professionals to compete in a PGA Tour Event.
